My new self confidence :)

New self confidence? Yeah… have a look at the picture on your right side, it is called ‘Soto Ambengan’… my first to be exact. So… why?

The explanation will be… I admit that I’m not a good cook. I have low confidence regarding food…. especially those which has many ingredients, in this case more than 3 šŸ˜€ but today… I have learned another lesson in life, “If I don’t try and push myself to cook a complicated food, I will never know if I am capable or not to produce such a nice food” šŸ™‚ I’ll tell you the story of the day…

I have good friends of us visited and had dinner with us. Yesterday, I talked to Tilda and ask if it is ok if I cook Indonesian food *even I wasn’t sure at all what should I cook* Adde and Tilda love Indonesian food and the other reason was, again… I would like to challenge myself!! When she said yes, then my mind straight away went to one website I thank mbak Asti Nugraha, the owner of all great yet simple recipe that helped me a lot to make this dinner unforgetable,… “Thank you so much mbak Asti. Love your wonderful but easy to follow recipe!”

I cooked three recipe, which are ‘Soto Ambengan’ = Indonesian chicken soup Ambengan style. I don’t have idea why this chicken soup called Ambengan šŸ˜€ do apologize for my lack of information! My second dish was ‘Botok daging cincang’ = minced meat (beef) wrapped in banana leaves and for dessert I made ‘Sus isi vla’ = it looks like eclairs or… it is eclairs Indonesian style šŸ˜€ For the eclairs, this was my second attemp so I was pretty confindence about it. But for the chicken soup and minced beef, well… what can I say, I was so nervous to know what my P, Tilda and Adde think about my soup and minced beef. As soon as my hubby P came home, I asked to try and I could see the light in his eyes which means that it is delicious. Yesssss…… I succeeded!!!!

To make the story short… they love my foods!!! I’m so proud of myself for brave enough to try to make foods which are outside my comfort zone *which is pasta and other 3 ingredients foods*. Honestly, what was happened today had raised my confidence about cooking and trust me… I would like to try other recipe, hmmm… maybe Balinese next time šŸ˜€

So there… my new self confindence and a story about us who had a successful dinner tonight. Let’s see what foods come next šŸ™‚ Got to go folks…we wish you a super duper weekend. Bye…
