The sun was shining beautifully and there were lots of people went outside the park the opposite of our flat. Hubby and I too… we were skiing, cross country ski for exact. There is a story that I remember every time I do this sport.
A story about a lady who talk behind my back about my activitis especially activity to learn how to ski. She said that cross country ski that I did was NOT the real ski *in this term, I lost her 🙂 LOL!!!* because according to her the cross country skiing doesn’t need an expensive equipment *hmmm…* and doesn’t need special technique *helloooo….*, people doesn’t need to use the power because it is very easy to do because it is done only on a flat surface *really???* and this is NOT a sport *again, I lost her!* I was so surprise because I know the fact that cross country ski is one of quite famous sport, well… at least in this country 🙂 but I understand her judgement because cross country skiing has different name in Europe and she compares this cross country skiing with alpine skiing that she think more luxurious and the ‘real ski’ . People called it ‘Langlaufen=Dutch‘… ‘Skilanglauf=German‘… ‘Längdåkning=Swedish‘ and ‘Ski lintas alam=Indonesian‘. But it doesn’t mean with those different names you can claim that this activity is not sport, and who said that it doesn’t need a technique to do?! 😀 It does need a technique especially when you try to climb the stiff hill and not only technique, it needs a brilliant stamina to manage to do it in a lång distance. Well… maybe she should follows and watch how those super athletes compete in the World series or European series. The easy way is read wikipedia then you will get all the information about this sport. I guess maybe it needed to stay or live in Sweden to understand what the cross country skiing is all about 🙂 or maybe she has another reason why she try so hard to put me down hahahahhah…. *now I get it!!* LOL!!! Whatever her reasons are it won’t let me down even though I’ll always remember those funny story every time I put my gear and continue to learn this sport. Mind you, I am a very very very amateur skier 😀
Enough with cross country topic, we headed off to have lunch and I got this view when hubby and I had our meal in front of us. A big boat cross the broken ice, I wish I had my pocket camera with me to take a better picture actually… but hey! This is good enough I think 🙂 I saw one pair of ducks was floating on too and one swan tried to catch its lunch. Brrr… I’m sure the water must be so cold especially in this winter, even though the sun shines strongly.
Got back home and I felt asleep for two hours and woke up with more energy to write here, later on to prepare for the lecturer tomorrow and write some report for the project subject in Åsö gymnasium. I missed the chance to see the Chinese Terracota Army in Ostasiatiska Museum which today is the last day of exhibition, well… it doesn’t mean to be I guess 🙂 Anyway, I’m glad to be able to have time to practice my English and share some thoughts. I hope every one of you have had a wonderful weekend.
Time to folks… see you again tomorrow!
