Is it really matter?

Once my friend asked me,

“What kind of camera do you use?”

“Why?” I answer with question too 🙂

“I like your picture. Did you use Nikon?”

“I am glad that you like my picture and nope, I don’t use Nikon. I use Canon. Why?” I kept answering with a question because it raises curiosity in my side 😀

“I thought you use Nikon because I heard that Nikon is the best camera if you want to take pictures.”

Well, the conversation ended up with smile on my face without any further question but in my mind still there are many questions going around. I know that discussion about which kind of camera brand is the best will never stop. Some says Nikon is the best, some says Canon is and some said other brands but my question will be,

“Is it really matter?”

For me it is just a camera and of course it is personal choice. Every person has different taste and opinion about some brands. Before I was really kin to debate about which camera is best but now I get over it. Why? Because over the years I’ve seen many pictures -which are amazing- are taken by just pocket camera or even mobile phones. So I learn along the way that equipment is just giving support, the one who took the picture and have the eyes who will deliver a great shot –it doesn’t matter what equipment has been used- and for me personally, the most important thing is every picture tells a story that will be enjoyed by many eyes. Me? I am still learning how to take picture which tells something and trust me, it is not easy. Well… at least for me! Haha! 😀

I guess this is not only in photography but almost in any job, equipment is becoming some kind of status that person has. Again, I’m not against those kinds of things because sometimes we need a good quality of equipment to produce certain type of work but again… this is not the end of the world, I could say 😀 and I am not jealous either because as I explain above, the feeling of grateful and satisfaction that I get is matter 🙂 For me there is no point to spend your money for something that you don’t feel any satisfaction every time you use it and doesn’t give you any happiness inside. I’ve always grateful with everything that I have, it doesn’t matter even if those things are the most cheapest one in the shop 😀 Practicality and the function come first before the brand name and status haha! 🙂

Photos in this post is mixed between the one that I took using my camera with the one that I took using mobile phone, each of them has a story to tell and I’m proud and stand behind every single photo that I took. Sometimes I found myself surprised every time someone loves those pictures which were taken with simple camera or phone and I am more convinced once again that equipment is just support and the person who uses it is the main factor behind a great work 🙂

100 persent right. And for sure beauty is in the eye of the beholder…. who you are will just as well determine what you will like and see,…. and want to see. i agree it’s surely not a matter of which camera…
