I hear the rain outside when my eyes come across some pictures from my Instagram, foods that I made for A. Not all food that I am able to capture because sometimes I don’t get chance to grab my phone. As you might know that my daughter A doesn’t want to eat ready food that we could buy in store since she was introduced solid food. I don’t know exactly why she didn’t like it because we tried couple of flavours and still she refused it. Our guess would be, she prefer to eat stronger flavour foods that I made from scratch. On the other side, I looooovvveee to make food for A too 🙂 I feel that making food for A is like doing some meditation hahaha and I have so much fun everytime I am in the kitchen. Play with so many colours of fruits and vegetables with hope that A would love to eat any kind of food and doesn’t turn out as a picky eater is something that I found amusing. Her favourite food so far is two types of soup, the first one is Indonesian chicken soup known as ‘Soto Ayam’ and the second one is Balinese soup known as ‘Jukut Balung’. She loves to eat them with rice for sure and shows her Balinese/Indonesian side. I haven’t managed to show you here the photos of those two soups but as soon as we are back in Stockholm, I’ll make some of them and capture it with my camera.
For back up food, I often make chicken vegetable nuggets. You might wonder why I have to write vegetable, well… because A doesn’t really keen to eat when I made nuggets with chicken only. She prefer to have it with 2/3 of the ingredients are vegetables. I used to put peas, sweet corn, diced potatoes, shredded carrots, and many more. This is also the thing that I enjoy doing A’s food, I could play with many colourful fruits and vegetables and put whatever I want 😀 The other back up foods that I have in the freezer for our Sunshine are homemade Indonesian meatballs, homemade dumplings and homemade Swedish meatballs using moose meat. Usually I will make quite big amount of food every month and store it so when I don’t have time to cook something for her, I just grab it and warm them up in the oven. Having a very active toddler is sometimes doesn’t give me any insurance that I would able to cook fresh food in every meal for A 😀 especially when we have to go out with some friends or catch some fresh air. Well, actually I made some back up food for us too but variety of A’s food is much wider than us. For us this back up food is more practical and suits us perfectly.
Did I tell you that our daughter is a berries monster 😀 because she loves to eat any types of berries. So strawberry is fruit that we try to always have in our home. She can eat 6-8 medium size strawberries in one go, so I could say that in the summer time, A is like in a paradise because we could find berries easily. We have wild strawberry plants in our garden and we also have some strawberry plants, redcurrant and blackcurrant. Hopefully, next year we will harvest much more than we did this year.
The clock is showing me 03:34 now and yet…my eyes still wide open. I just remember that I need to fix some pictures for farfar and farmor to print and hang in their living room. Well, see you later then and I wish you all have a great day 🙂
